Overview Amendments are created for approved protocols when any part of the protocol requires a change. Scientific and PI Amendments will have a "coversheet" in the form of an AME Summary. An amendment summary will describe what is changing and why to provide content for future reports and guidance to the Reviewers. Notes
Overview The Amendment workspace is the home page for amendments to protocols. From the workspace you can view amendment details and current state, edit the amendment, review the amendment, and complete necessary activities. The amendment workspace can be accessed by individuals attached to the amendment, including the Principal Investigator, Lab Personnel, ACU Office, ULAM and Reviewers. Only the Principal Investigator and those with Edit rights can edit the amendment.
Overview The Animal Treatment Record (ATR) workspace is the main page for animal treatment records and information. From the ATR workspace you can record a new ATR visit, update a current ATR visit, maintain ATR assignment level (escalate), record a missing cage, resolve an ATR, and complete other necessary activities. The ATR workspace can be accessed by individuals who have the ATR Staff role of Veterinary, Viewer, or Husbandry (for a limited time in the life cycle).
Overview All forms related to the ordering, shipping and receiving of animals are completed and submitted electronically within the eResearch Animal Management (eRAM) system. The forms are attached to approved protocols. This document provides an overview of the types of animal use forms within the eRAM system. For detailed steps on completing each form, see the Create an Animal Use Form – Step-by-Step Procedure.
Overview The ATR Staff Home workspace is the home page for animal treatment records for individuals who have the ATR Staff role. The ATR Staff is comprised of roles for Husbandry, Veterinary (includes Vet Tech, Vet Resident, and Vet Faculty), and Viewer. The tabs that display for you depend on your assigned role. You may need to scroll right to see all the fields.
The Cages tab in the protocol workspace lists information related to cages and provides a link to additional details about each cage. Currently, only cages that are associated with the protocol will be visible. Protocol Workspace > Cages Tab
Step-by-Step Process Close Facility Inspection Deficiency Action Once all Facility Inspector Reviewers have submitted their reviews, then the ACU Facility Inspector Admin will close the deficiency and complete the action item in eRAM.
Overview The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Medical Surveillance Form is now completed directly in eRAM. In most cases, you will receive an email prompting you to complete the form. If needed, the form can also be accessed from the EHS workspace in eRAM. The data will not be saved in eRAM, therefore all fields on the form must be completed in one sitting. You cannot start it and come back at a later time. If a copy of the form is needed, you will need to do a print screen.
Overview Research involving the use of controlled substances at the University of Michigan is strictly regulated. U-M faculty who obtain, store, and utilize controlled substances in their research must obtain, as applicable, a State of Michigan license and a U.S. Department of Justice – Drug Enforcement Administration registration AND record your approved license/registration (CSR) in eRAM.
Overview Action Items are created within animal use forms, amendments and protocols to notify a person or group of a related task. If the action item requires an amendment, the action item and amendment need to be associated with each other. When working with action items, there are activities specific to the assigner and the assignee, as well as activities that can be taken by both. When following the steps in this document, note the role(s) of the individual who can or must perform each activity.
