Placing a Call
Click the button next to the phone number.
Use either the IP Communicators keypad or your laptop/desktop keypad to enter phone number. Non-UM 9+ 1+ 10 digit or 5 digit number.
Receiving a Call
To receive a call using the softphone, you must be logged into the IP Communicator.
Softphones
The Cisco Jabber softphone can easily place, receive, and manage telephone calls using a computer with an internet connection. The Cisco Jabber softphone is available for Windows and macOS.
Note: U-M VPN (student, faculty, and staff profile) is required when off the UM Network.
Download Jabber from Google Play.
Open Jabber.
Accept the End User Agreement on your Android Phone.
Toggle through offerings by swiping left.

Placing Calls
Note: U-M does not support the Contact List feature.
Enter the phone number in the Jabber hub Search or Call field.
Click the phone icon next to the Search or Call field.
Important: When entering a non-UM number, enter a 9+1 before the ten-digit phone number.
