Softphone Guide for Zoom Phone Deskset Users

Deskset users can access the U-M Zoom Phone as a softphone on their university device (laptop, mobile, tablet). This guide assists deskset users with accessing the softphone version of Zoom phone and using essential features such as making calls and checking voicemail, in addition to deskset resources. 

Basic

​This section includes the basic functionalities to get started with the Zoom Phone App and adjust essential settings in the U-M Zoom web portal.

• Installing Zoom application - on your U-M provided device
• Zoom Phone Initial Setup - including:
  • Quick Setup
  • Emergency Address Setup 
  • Location Permission Setup
  • Voicemail Setup
  • Business/Closed/Holiday Hours.
• Quick Start Guide-  to perform basic functions with Zoom phone including, Make and receive calls, Forward calls, In-Call Controls, Voicemail, Set Do Not Disturb, Set outbound caller ID and Call Blocking.

• Call Delegation-  Assign another phone user to handle calls on your behalf.
