MiDesktop features a number of ways for customers to allow end users to securely reach the virtual or physical pools to which they subscribe. Several options are available during ordering, giving you total control:
Access MiDesktop from virtually anywhere: midesktop.umich.edu
Require users to be on a university network or use the U-M Cisco AnyConnect VPN: local2fa.midesktop.it.umich.edu

Open a browser from the MiDesktop jump server and navigate to https://cs1.midesktop.it.umich.edu/admin
Log in with credentials in your MiDesktop Active Directory admin group
Some pool configurations can be edited to fit customer and end user needs. These include:
Pool display name
Active Directory OU
Entitle users
Connect to the MiDesktop jump server
Open a browser from the jump server and navigate to https://vcenter.midesktop.it.umich.edu/ui
Log in with uniqname and password and accept the Duo prompt
Click the VMs and Templates view (the second icon on the left pane) and expand the inventory tree until you see your admin group and sub-folders
Expand the Base Images folder to view your base images

Overview
The VM must be properly configured before deploying a persistent desktop pool. This document contains the steps that must be completed to ensure it is set up correctly and in accordance with vendor best practices.
Pre-Work
Create an MCommunity group dedicated to administrators for managing the Horizon environment.
Add the intended end users or groups to the 'Remote Desktop Users' on the machines.
Configure firewall ports.
Install the Horizon Agent.
