Voicemail

Self-created redirect rules in the ITS Exchange Voicemail system may prevent voicemail messages from being delivered to U-M Google email accounts. To resolve this issue, convert self-created redirect rules to forwarding rules.
Email Access If your uniqname was provided at the time your voice mailbox was created, copies of your voicemail messages (and any faxes you receive) are forwarded to your email account where you can open and listen to or read the copies. The original messages will remain in your voicemail inbox until deleted by phone or through OWA.
Using a Mobile Device To configure the phone to synchronize with Microsoft Exchange:
Overview Outlook Web App (OWA) connects to your Exchange mailbox using a browser on any networked computer. Use any supported web browser to connect to https://exchange.umich.edu/ and sign in. OWA automatically opens your Inbox when you log on. Note:Please make certain you are using a new browser or a Private/Incognito window in your browser when accessing OWA to prevent issues with multiple login credentials.
Overview Additional Exchange Voicemail features are available for you to set up in Outlook Web App (OWA). Voicemail Preview converts voice to text on your computer, tablet or smartphone.
Sign into the Outlook Web App. Select Options from the Settings drop-down list in the upper right corner. Click Phone in the left side menu. Select Reset PIN under Voicemail.
Setting Up Call Answering Rules At the login in screen enter your 10-digit phone number and Outlook Web App (OWA) password. Click the settings icon in the upper right corner and select Options. Select Phone in the left menu of the options page. Under Voicemail call answering rules, click the plus sign (+). A new call answering rule form will appear. Type a name for the new rule (for example, Transfer Calls or Find Me).
To leave a message in someone's Exchange voice mailbox without ringing their phone: Dial your voicemail access number. If you are using your desk phone, press star (*) after hearing "Welcome". If you are using another phone, go to step 3.
Overview This will provide you the necessary tools for setting up an Exchange Voicemail account. If you have elected to have copies of your Exchange mail forwarded to your non-Exchange email account; read the Welcome message in your email inbox. Dearborn and Flint use Cisco Unity voicemail.
