Overview
The Cisco Unified Communications Self Care Portal is an online web tool used to create speed dials and line forwarding.
Note Prior to use, a user id needs to be created and associated to the line.
Log in to the Cisco Web Inbox for your U-M campus with the provided username and password:
Important Passwords must be changed at first login and every 90 days.
Passwords must:
- Contain at least 7 characters.
- Contain three of the following: uppercase character, lowercase character, number, and symbol.
- Not be the same as any of the last 6 passwords used.
- Not use a character or number more than 3 times in a row.
- Not include the alias, username, or extension.
- Not be sequential characters or numbers, such as 654321 or ABCDEFG.
Setting Up Speed Dial Numbers
- Click Phone Settings.
- Enter the Speed Dials and Abbreviated Dials with labels.
Note ​Speed Dials show up on the set's available lines.
Note Abbreviated Dials are assigned a code used with the AbbrDial softkey.
- U-M: 5 digits
- Non-UM Local: 9+7 digit phone number
- Non-UM Long Distance: 9+1+(area code)+7 digit phone number
Note Only for lines that include long distance forwarding
- Click SAVE.
- Click Apply Configuration and then OK.
Setting Up Call Forwarding
- Click Line Settings.
- Select the Line to Forward on the right of the page.
- Check the box for the action to apply.
- Select either:
- Voicemail: to forward to an active voicemail mailbox
- This Number: enter the receiving phone number
Note Abbreviated dials are:
- U-M: 5 digits
- Non-UM Local: 9+7 digit phone number
- Non-UM Long Distance: 9+1+(area code)+7 digit phone number
Note Only for lines that include long distance forwarding
Tips
- If you have an available key on your phone, Speed dials show up as labeled.
- To access an abbreviated dial, enter the number and then press the AbbrDial softkey.
