Zoom Phone: Using Call Summary with AI Companion

Overview

When this feature is turned on, Zoom Phone can create a quick summary of your calls using AI. At the end of each call, you’ll see a summary in your call history, including names, dates, and main discussion points.

How to ask phone call questions with AI Companion

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop or mobile app to make or receive calls.
  2. While on a call, on the phone keypad, click AI Companion to initiate AI Companion.
A panel will appear. Additionally, an audible notification will play, letting you and your participants know that AI Companion is enabled for the call.
    Notes:
    • If this is the first time opening AI Companion in the current phone call, some typical preset prompts are provided. Any subsequent views of the panel for the current phone call will have your questions and responses thus far shown instead.
    • The AI Companion button will enable both in-call questions and post-call summary features for you (provided that the admin has turned on both features).
  3. Click a provided question, or click the text compose box at the bottom of the panel to enter a custom question.
Zoom’s AI Companion will provide a generated response based on what it has heard and properly analyzed thus far in the meeting.
  4. (Optional) Click either thumbs up or thumbs down to rate the generated response.
  5. (Optional) Click the copy icon to copy the response.
  6. At the bottom of the panel, enter another custom question, or click Show suggested prompts to view additional preset prompts.
  7. (Optional) On the phone keypad, click AI Companion again to close the AI Companion panel.

The phone call conversation will be displayed in the Zoom Phone History tab once the call is over, with the AI Companion indicator. The call will contain a Quick recap and Next steps, where you can View full summary.
