Amazon Connect Accessibility

Amazon Connect is a softphone service for receiving phone and routing phone calls (e.g., such as in a call center/technical support environment). As Amazon Connect is a softphone service, it can be accessed via your computer in a web browser. There is no support for mobile access as of this review.

Bluetooth hearing aids or other audio devices that use bluetooth and are compatible with the system audio of the computer the user is using are expected to work with Amazon Connect. AWS Connect can be navigated using standard operating system and browser keyboard controls, since this is a web application.

Amazon Connect was tested for screen reader compatibility using the NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA) screen reader with Chrome, and the application was able to be used due to the descriptive labels and keyboard accessibility. Additionally, Amazon Connect has been tested and works with common operating system and browser magnification features. Support for captioning options to be made available to agents using the softphone service is being researched.

Units who are considering implementation of this product should consider how they will provide accessible supports to individuals with disabilities.
