Creating Your NameCoach Audio Email Signature

NameCoach is a web-based tool that allows users to record, listen to, and learn names. After you've recorded your name pronunciation, you can share your recorded name with others by adding it to your email signature.

NOTE: For creating an Email Signature, U-M users cannot log in directly to the NameCoach website using UMICH login credentials. To ensure that you are in the U-M domain, use the NameCoach Email Signature link below to log in using your UMICH (Level-1) credentials.

Recording Your Name in NameCoach

  1. Log in to the NameCoach Email Signature website.

  2. If you have recorded your name pronunciation, continue to Adding Your NameCoach Audio Email Signature.

    If you have not recorded your name pronunciation, you will see the new recording page. Continue to the next step:

  3. Select the method you wish to use to record your name: Phone, Web Recorder, or Uploader.

    • Phone

      1. Enter your telephone number, beginning with the area code, in the provided field. (e.g. 734-764-1871)

      2. Click the Call me now! button.

      3. When NameCoach calls, follow the prompts to record your name.

      4. Hang up.

    • Web Recorder

      1. Click the Record button.

      2. Speak your name. When finished, click the Stop button.

      3. Click the Play button to hear your recording. Click Record Again if you're not happy with the recording.

    • Uploader

      1. Locate the audio file on your computer and drag it into the Drag a file here box, or click Browse for file to locate the file that way.

  4. Click the Submit and Finish button.

Adding Your NameCoach Audio Email Signature

  1. On your NameCoach Dashboard page, below Your Recordings, click on the Add NameBadge to your Email Signature tab.

  2. Click whichever button you want to add to your email signature. It will copy the code you need to your clipboard.

    Now you can add your NameCoach Audio Email Signature in Gmail or Outlook.

  1. Open your U-M email account.

  2. Click the gear icon in the top right hand corner.

  3. Click the See all settings button.

  4. On the General tab, scroll down to the Signature area.

  5. Put your cursor where you want your NameBadge to appear and paste by pressing Ctrl+V on your keyboard.

  6. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

  1. Navigate to your email signature in Outlook:

  2. Put your cursor where you want your NameBadge to appear and paste by pressing Ctrl+V on your keyboard.

  3. Save your settings.
