Placing a Call
Note U-M doesn’t support the Contact List feature.
- Tap in the Search or Call field.
- Enter the 9+ 1+ 10-digit for non U-M or 5-digit U-M phone number.
- Click the Phone icon below the Search or Call field.
Placing a Call on Hold
- Click the icon with the 3 dots in the active call window.
- Select Hold.
- Tap Resume to return to the call.
Transferring a Call
Transferring allows you to transfer a call from your softphone to any other phone on the U-M system.
- Select the 3 dots icon.
- Select Transfer.
- In the Search or Call field, enter the phone number (9+1+10-digit or 5-digit) to which you want to transfer the call.
- Tap the phone icon below the Search or Call field.
- Select the Arrowed Transfer icon to transfer the call.
Receiving a Call
In order to receive a call using Jabber, you must be logged in to the application.
When you receive an incoming call, you will see a call window open on your device screen.
- Click Accept to accept the call
- Click Decline to forward the call to voicemail
Forwarding Calls
Note: We ask that you do not forward your university phone to a personal or home telephone number in an emergency shut down of the U-M campus. This feature is reserved for critical operations. Please keep in mind that staff members using softphones can log in to the application directly to take calls from home.
- Swipe right on the Jabber hub (top-left).
- Tap Settings in the upper-left corner.
- Tap Call Forwarding.
- Tap New Number.
- Tap Forward To.
- Enter a phone number, including 9+1+10-digit phone number or 5-digit phone number and press Done.
Stop Forwarding
- Tap Settings in the upper-left corner.
- Tap Call Forwarding.
- Select Do Not Forward Calls.
