Overview
This document provides information on how to access software for your Host Collection in Red Satellite at U-M.
How to Access Red Hat Content
- All Red Hat content available under our campus license on Red Hat Satellite at U-M can be added to hosts. This includes the following products:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux® (x86_64 Server, Workstation, Desktop, SAP Applications, Extended
- Update Support)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux Atomic Host
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux for HPC
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux for IBM POWER
- Red Hat Developer Toolset
- Red Hat Software Collections
- These products are presently available in Red Hat Satellite at U-M but not covered under our campus license and require additional purchase:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux Extended Life Cycle Support
Note: To request products not covered under our camps license, open a ticket with the ITS Service Center.
- Many Red Hat-provided repositories are not enabled by default but can be enabled on existing hosts using subscription-manager.
- It is possible to add repositories to your activation key. New hosts registered with that key should automatically have the software repositories enabled. To create an activation key, refer to How to Create an Activation Key in Red Hat Satellite at U-M.
- If you are unable to find Red Hat-provided content you believe should be available, it likely has not been mirrored to Red Hat Satellite at U-M. Contact the support team for consideration.
Notes:
- Large or licensed repositories may not be approved for distribution through Red Hat Satellite at U-M.
- Content presented this way will be available to all other users of Red Hat Satellite at U-M.
How to Access Third-Party Content
- Third-party content that is not available on Red Hat Satellite at U-M can be added to hosts using local configuration.
- If you are unable to find third-party content that you think should be mirrored to Red Hat Satellite at U-M, contact the support team for consideration.
Notes:
- Large or licensed repositories may not be approved for distribution through Red Hat Satellite at U-M.
- Custom content presented this way will be available to all other users of Red Hat Satellite at U-M.
