VPN: Download the iOS AnyConnect Client

Download and Configure the VPN Client

1. Download and install Cisco AnyConnect from the App Store.
2. Open the installed application.
3. Select Connections, then Add VPN Connection.
   • Staff, faculty, students, or sponsored affiliates should enter umvpn.umnet.umich.edu as the Server Address in the Connection Editor.
4. Tap Save.
5. A pop up opens: "AnyConnect" would like to Add VPN Connections. Tap Allow.
   1. If you have TouchID enabled, you may be asked for your fingerprint. 
   2. If you a have a lock enabled, it will ask you to verify.

Connect Using the VPN

Important You must have a network connection to connect via the VPN.

1. Open the AnyConnect application.
2. Ensure the VPN connection you just created is selected. 
3. Tab the AnyConnect VPN toggle to on. 
4. When prompted, authenticate using your university uniqname and UMICH password.
5. Complete Duo Two-Factor authentication.
