AppsAnywhere Application Portal (MiWorkspace)

AppsAnywhere is an app store that enables staff, faculty, and students, on Windows computers, to access the university software they need, all from one web portal.

Accessing Software on a MiWorkspace Windows Computer with AppsAnywhere

A computer with AppsAnywhere will have the AppsAnywhere client and Cloudpaging player installed. Follow these steps below to install applications from the portal:

  1. Open your preferred web browser and go to
  2. Use your uniqname and UMICH (Level-1) password to login. Once logged in, a validation process starts which will be displayed (blue bar) at the top of the browser window. Once successfully validated, a successful validation is reported (green bar) and the apps available will be seen. The green validation bar will disappear after a few seconds.
    • The validation process should happen automatically on clients with the AppsAnywhere software already installed.

  6. Use the Cloudpaging Player to remove applications (see the Removing an Application section below).

Removing an Application from the Cloudpaging Player

The only way to remove software installed from the AppsAnywhere portal is through the Cloudpaging Player. Follow these steps to remove an application:

  1. From your desktop, click the Start menu and type Cloudpaging Player.
  2. Select the application you want to remove and click the Remove button.

Troubleshooting Common Problems

  1. I cannot see any Applications available to me
    • If a screen like the below appears, it is because the logged in user has no applications provisioned to their active directory account. Make sure the user account is added the Active Directory group that provisions applications. Note that you can log into the AppsAnywhere portal with an account different than the one used to log into the computer.MiWorkspace Helper App Icon on the Notification bar
  2. I do not see prompts to download and install the AppsAnywhere Client and Player (BYOD)
  3. I was unable to Validate AppsAnywhere
    • If using a BYOD or non-AppsAnywhere build then see #2 above - you need to download both the Client and the Player.
