Document Imaging System: Capturing PDF documents into Imaging opens a blank web page with error webpage was cancelled

This error happens when capturing a document in ImageNow by drag-and-drop, or trying to view the document. When working with PDF's Adobe settings impact how the PDF is treated in the Imaging System and this includes browser settings for Adobe, even if using the Imaging desktop client (Perceptive Content).

If using Adobe Pro X or earlier

Note: These settings are for Adobe Pro X, earlier versions of Adobe might be slightly different in terms of the labels used by Adobe.

  1. Open any PDF document that that is saved on the local machine (for example, a PDF document that is the "My Documents" folder. It does not matter what the document is).
  2. Click on Edit > Preferences.
  3. From the Menu on the left-hand side of the preferences window under Categories select Internet.
  4. Check the box for Display PDF in browser.
  5. Click OK and close the Adobe properties box and close the PDF document.

If using Adobe XI or later

The "Display PDF in Browser" option is not available in Adobe XI. To enable the PDF in browser:

  1. Open any PDF document that that is saved on the local machine (for example, a PDF document that is the "My Documents" folder. It does not matter what the document is).
  2. Click on Edit > Preferences.
  3. From the Menu on the left-hand side of the preferences window under Categories select Internet.
  4. Click on the link for How to setup your browser to use Adobe products to view pdf documents and follow the instructions.
