Setting Up Call Answering Rules

  1. At the login in screen enter your 10-digit phone number and Outlook Web App (OWA) password.

  2. Click the settings icon in the upper right corner and select Options.

  3. Select Phone in the left menu of the options page.

  4. Under Voicemail call answering rules, click the plus sign (+). A new call answering rule form will appear.

  5. Type a name for the new rule (for example, Transfer Calls or Find Me).

  6. After If a caller reaches my voice mail, and: select a condition when the rule should be applied or select [Apply to all calls].

  7. After Do the following: Select Provide the caller with these options

  8. Click Select Options.

  9. Select Find Me or Transfer Call.

  10. Select OK after: Do you want this rule to apply to all future calls?

  11. Select Yes.

Setting up A Rule to Forward Voice Messages

Important: Use Internet Explorer to set up your voice message forwarding rules.

You can have your voice messages forwarded to individual or group email accounts.

  1. At the login in screen enter your 10-digit phone number and Outlook Web App (OWA) password.

  2. Click the settings icon in the upper right corner and select Options.

  3. Select organize email in the left menu of the options page.

  4. Under inbox rules, click the plus sign (+) to create a new inbox rule.

  5. Select Create a new rule for arriving messages.

  6. A form called new inbox rule will open. Type a name for the new rule.

  7. Under When the message arrives, and: select [Apply to all messages].

  8. Under Do the following: select Redirect the message to.

  9. When the Contact page opens, type the full email address of the individual(s) or group(s) to receive the messages in the To: field in the upper left corner. You can enter multiple addresses.

  10. Click OK.

  11. In the new inbox rule form, click Save.

  12. After Do you want this rule to apply to all future messages? Click Yes.

To disable the rule, go back to organize email and uncheck the box next to the rule. To remove the rule, select the Rule and then select Delete.

Setting Up a Rule to Delete Voice Messages

  1. At the login in screen  enter your 10-digit phone number and Outlook Web App (OWA) password.

  2. Repeat steps 2-8.

  3. Under Do the following: select Delete the message.

  4. Click Save.

  5. After Do you want this rule to apply to all future messages? Click Yes.

Note:The email message will remain in your email mailbox until you delete it manually. To disable the rule, go back to organize email and uncheck the box next to the rule. To remove the rule, select the Rule and then select Delete.

Enable/Disable Additional Features

  1. From Outlook Web App (OWA), click the settings icon in the upper right corner and select Options.

  2. Select Phone in the left side menu.

Voice Mail Preview

  1. Check (to enable) or uncheck (to disable) in two places.

  2. Click Save.

Reset PIN

  1. Click Reset my voice mail PIN.

  2. Check your umich email account or the OWA inbox for your new PIN.

Missed Call Notification

  1. Check (to enable) or uncheck (to disable).

  2. Click Save.
