Overview
This will provide you the necessary tools for setting up an Exchange Voicemail account. If you have elected to have copies of your Exchange mail forwarded to your non-Exchange email account; read the Welcome message in your email inbox. Dearborn and Flint use Cisco Unity voicemail.
Getting Started
- At the login in screen enter your 10-digit phone number and Outlook Web App (OWA) password.
- Click Sign In.
- Click Mail and select "Welcome to Exchange Unified Messaging".
The message includes:
- Access Number:
- 5-4242 (734-615-4242) Ann Arbor
- Extension - your 10-digit phone number
- PIN - used to login via phone

Changing Your OWA Password
- Sign into the Outlook Web App.
- Click Options button in the upper right corner.
- Select Change Your Password.
- Complete the form and click Save.
Your OWA password must be at least 9 characters long and contain three of the following items:
- lower-case letter
- upper-case letter
- number
- non-alphanumeric characters, such as ! or #
- it may not contain your uniqname or name
- ITS recommends you change your password after you sign in for the first time
Changing Your Phone PIN
- Sign into the Outlook Web App.
- Select Options from the Settings drop-down list in the upper right corner.
- Click Phone in the left side menu.
- Select Reset PIN under Voicemail.
A temporary PIN will be sent to your umich email account if forwarding is set up. Alternatively, the temporary PIN message will be in your OWA inbox. The next time you log in to your voicemail you will be prompted to change it. Note: You must enter your phone PIN, it protects you by not letting anyone else listen to your messages.

If you are unable to modify your PIN:
- Dial the access number and log in to your mailbox.
- Say Personal Options or Press 6.
- Press 3.
