Meet Me Audio conference bridge

There may be certain cases where campus units request an audio-only conference bridge.  If you need to acquire a Meet Me audio conference bridge or need additional assistance such as a lost PIN, please reach out to ITS Telecommunications Analysts at 734-763-2000 or [email protected]

How to dial into the conference bridge

  1. Dial the telephone number assigned to your conference bridge: [XXX-XXX-XXXX]
  2. Enter one of the following according to your role:
    1. Moderator PIN:  [XXXXXX#] Will be provided when order complete
    2. Conference ID: [XXXXXX#] Will be provided when order complete
    3. Security PIN: [If assigned with be 6 characters, provided when order complete]

How to program a Meet Me conference as a Speed Dial

For Smartphones:

If using a smartphone's contacts or dialer app, you can:

  • iOS:

    1. Create a new contact.
    2. Input the number, followed by a pause (tap "Pause" for a comma).  (You may need to press (*#) to access this option)
    3. Enter the conference ID followed by a #.
    4. Save the contact.

       

  • Android:

    1. Create a new contact.
    2. Enter the main dial-in number.
    3. Tap "Pause" (or ,). (You may need to press (*#) to access this option)
    4. Enter the conference ID followed by a #.
    5. Save the contact.

Note

The contact in your phone should appear with a phone number similar to this, where "7346470000" is your Conference telephone number, and "123456' is your Conference ID.

Controls during the conference bridge

Before the conference begins, participants and moderator can press # to mute/unmute the on hold music.  Once the conference commences, conference control commands are available to both moderators and participants at any time during the conference. Only the person who chooses to use this feature by pressing * during the conference hears the menu while other participants continue talking, or listening in to the conference.

Moderator Control Menu

To access the moderator control menu at any time during the conference, press *, then press:

– Mute or unmute this line

– Participant count, followed by roll call

– Turn on or turn off Lecture Mode

– Lock or unlock conference

– End conference

– To return to the conference

– Repeat the menu options

Note

  • Power dial – If you don’t want to listen to the menu, simply press * then the digit for the option you want.  (e.g., you can press “*4” to lock the conference.) If you enter any digit other than what’s noted here, you are returned back to the conference.

  • After Lecture Mode, ask to unmute – Lecture Mode mutes participants so that the moderator may speak uninterrupted. After Lecture Mode has been enabled, then disabled, the moderator must ask participants to unmute their lines by pressing *1. Otherwise participants will remain muted.

 

Participant Control Menu

Control functions are also available to participants who are not moderators. To access the participant control menu at any time during the conference, press *, then press:

– Mute or unmute myself

– Participant count, followed by roll call

– Log in as moderator

– To return to the conference

– Repeat the menu options

Note

  • Log in as Moderator option – When a participant selects this option, they are asked for the moderator PIN.  If the PIN is correct, they become a moderator and can execute moderator commands.

  • Mute/Unmute – Participants can only mute or unmute themselves.
