MCommunity Group Roles and Permissions for U-M Pantheon Websites

Access to site management functionality via the ITS Web Hosting Services Portal and the Pantheon dashboard is based on the Managing MCommunity Group selected during the site-creation process.

You should select (or create) an MCommunity group that includes all individuals you want to be able to manage your website. Only MCommunity group Owners can access site management functionality via the ITS Web Hosting Portal, and only MCommunity group Members can access the Pantheon dashboard.

External members (outside U-M) can be added to MCommunity groups, but they cannot be assigned an Owner role. If they have one, it is recommended that you add external members using a U-M sponsored uniqname, as this will allow them to sign in using multi-factor authentication.

Individuals should be removed from the MCommunity group when they no longer need access to site management/hosting functionality.
